LITERACY
This week we:
- used what we've been learning in our IDEAS lessons in writing to construct an idea web about Terry Fox. Then, we wrote a paragraph about him as a group. When we were writing our paragraph we made sure that we included a topic sentence, proper punctuation and capitalization, and varied our sentence starters.
- read a variety of read alouds. We focused on making connections when we read, making predictions, asking questions and checking for understanding to improve our comprehension.
NUMERACY
This week we:
- worked on finding the next number in a decreasing pattern by subtracting
- learned how to extend a decreasing pattern
SCIENCE
This week we:
- finished up our layers of the earth models

- learned about the rock cycle and the three types of rocks
- watched some amazing videos and learned so much! This is one video that I promised to share on the blog so they could do this experiment at home! It's super fun!
- participated in the first two of four rock activity centres
